Step 3 of 3 in the Color Matching Process.

The Control tab is used to control the final paint color result.

1. You can upload a control photo by:

  • Taking a photo

  • Importing from Camera roll

  • By using the Ametra Colorimeter (currently unavailable)

    • Connect Ametra Colorimeter and measure your paint. Please ensure that the paint has dried first to avoid contaminating the device.

    • Recommended to ensure highly accurate measurements.

2. The control measurement will then appear on the screen.

  • If the color of the paint does significantly deviate from the reference color of the paint a Fail status will appear.

  • Acceptable paint samples will be labeled as Pass.

Keep in mind that factors such as lighting, camera quality, and digital colors not properly translating to real life (and vice versa) can impact the control status. Trust your eye.

If you see Fail status on your measurements AND the final result in real life also looks way off from your initial color, you can then take measures to correct your painting job.

To see the details of the measurement, tap the control sample. You can also make multiple control measurements during the painting to ensure accurate color.

While you can also use your device's camera and photos stored on the device, it is recommended to use Ametra Colorimeter to ensure highly accurate measurements.

Make multiple control measurements during the painting to ensure accurate color.

If you see Fail status on your measurements, take measures to correct your painting by either exchange the paint for a more accurate mix, thicken or thinning the paint layer, work on the surface etc.
