The Ametra Colorimeter allows you to measure colors from most physical surfaces, and is the most accurate way to add new colors to the App.
Connecting the Device:
Select Ametra Colorimeter from the Add Color menu.
If you are doing it for the first time, you will be prompted to give Ametra App access your device's Bluetooth. Please confirm.
Then the App will scan the surroundings for Ametra Colorimeter and, after finding one to connect to it. Confirm the connection. If you have several Ametra Colorimeters, use their serial number to select the right one.
After Ametra Colorimeter connected to the App, you can measure the colors of objects and surfaces around you.
Here are the best practices to get accurate color from the colorimeter:
Find a spot of solid color around 1 inch in diameter
Remove the calibration cap from the device if it is attached.
Firmly place the Colorimeter on top of it. Ideally, there should be no gap between the measured surface and the Colorimeter.
Firmly and shortly press the Colorimeter's measure button.
We also provide a helpful animation that demonstrates how to measure correctly.
If you're measuring from the Target Tab, the measured color will be automatically assigned as the new Target. You will get a prompt to confirm.
If you're measuring from the Control Tab, the measured color will be automatically assigned as the new control measurement. You will get a prompt to confirm.
If you're measuring from the Paint Match tool, the measured color will be automatically added as the match target.
If you're measuring from the Color Compare Tool, the measured color will be automatically added as the first compared color. Use the add second color feature to add the second color.
In all other App screens, you will get a Color Card preview in the lower part of the screen. From the preview you can choose to save the color to My Colors, assign it to an Item in your Project, match it to Paint or compare it to other color. You can also discard this color.
